Emma graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College with an AB in Environmental Science and Public Policy. She won Best Thesis in her major for her research on the strategies planners and advocates use to implement bicycle infrastructure in Boston, Rotterdam, and Copenhagen. After college, she worked as a transportation analyst for the Volpe Transportation Center and then in construction management for the Minnesota Department of Transportation. At UC Berkeley, she is completing her master’s degree in transportation engineering and will continue for a PhD in the same field. She is working on her PhD degree with Professors Susan Shaheen and Joan Walker and became a member of the TSRC research team in Summer 2017.
